Why Should I Buy #CryptoArt?
/This year has been full of “firsts” for me… and now that I have embarked on the adventure of creating, selling and collecting crypto art (NFTs), I’m asked a lot of questions… and so I have created this post to share some of my experiences & resources about crypto art basics for those who haven't yet discovered this possible treasure of an opportunity:)
Even though the crypto art phenomenon has been going on for years, I just started recently. I had stumbled upon a Call to Artists for the “She Art” Exhibit… which catapulted my personal crash-course into everything crypto art within a 48-hour period, to make it into the show. Fortunately, it all worked out and I am honored to be a participant in the first all-women crypto art exhibit at The London Gallery by Angie Taylor in Cryptovoxels with the Women of Crypto Art Community (Sept, 2020).
So, if I was able to figure it out, anyone can...

What is Crypto Art?
1. It’s a way of introducing scarcity and value to art in digital form.
2. It’s bringing together communities of artists from all over the globe — even during, and maybe because of, the pandemic.
3. It’s a way of rethinking art and art economies.
4. It’s pioneering new aesthetics and seems to be a movement in its own right.

Benefits of Owning Crypto Art:
• Potential to compound your crypto currency investment portfolio. Why keep the crypto getting dusty in your wallet, when you can have FUN finding and trading new art, and possibly INCREASE THE VALUE of your collection (sometimes exponentially).
• You become an authentic art collector. NFTs are original immutable art assets, functioning as verifiable proofs of ownership, with all its transactions fully transparent on the blockchain.
• Discover a new sense of wonder. Crypto art has many unique variables, with fusions of traditional & digital art forms. You will experience unexpected implementations of creative technology.
• Bonuses. Sometimes the NFT also includes “unlockable content”. Which means the artist may also offer originals, prints, videos, and/or any other rare perks for the collector.
• Laugh a little! Some artists are extremely funny, cleverly using the platforms :)
• Support the arts in an innovative way.
• It’s super easy! Transactions are completed in seconds with a few taps on your mobile device, or laptop, from anywhere… with no middle man.
• Practice the art of detachment. lol, Sometimes I am conflicted about selling a collectible because I love it so much. However, letting go, brings in the dough ;)

A Great insight from @DCCockFoster on Twitter:
”Not many people understand the fact that NFTs accomplish their stated goal of certifying artistic intent, and that they accomplish better than any other mechanism that currently exists. The people who do understand this are way ahead of the curve.”

1. You will need to purchase crypto. Some popular currency exchanges are: Coinbase, Binance and Bittrex, and can vary by what country your reside. Here’s my invite for $10 credit:) https://www.coinbase.com/join/christ_y6o?src=ios-link
Ethereum is currently the primary coin used for crypto art, although there are others. Ethereum is known to have fluctuating transaction fees (gas fees).
